No, both GRE and IELTS are not required to work in Canada. The intent of both exams are different. GRE is a standardized test for getting admission to MS or MBA programme abroad.

GRE and IELTS are both requirements for any form of study you wish to pursue. However, in case of a proper work opportunity, you would still require IELTS as the English Proficiency test. With the recent changes, the score barrier has gone up and certain people find it difficult to achieve the same.
