Can a B.Tech student (3rd year ) appear for GATE exam?

Hello Sohan, No, you cannot because you can write GATE exam after you enter the 4th-year i.e before writing the final semester exams of engineering. The final year students are eligible to take GATE exam. Third year students are not eligible.

Yes, but only during your last semester (8th semester) you will be eligible. GATE is for those who have completed their B.Tech and not for those who want to pursue it.
