No, you're not eligible for software engineering as you didn't opt for science stream in HSC.

No, you can't become a software engineer after being a commerce student. So this is not a career option for you if you are a commerce student, so try something else. Or do your +2 again with Science stream.

Engineering in any discipline requires PCM in 12th. For becoming a software engineer you need PCM with preferably Computer subject. So a commerce student can not become a software engineer. You will have to reappear for 12th Exams with these subjects which will take two years amd then opt for B.Tech which will take 4 years totalling 6 years. Or You can opt for 3 year Diploma in IT or CS from state technical board and then apply for lateral entry in B.Tech CS IInd year. Which will also be 6 years long.

Well, I won't say no but it will take a few extra years from your life. First, you have to take admission in Diploma course by Polytechnic then through lateral entry, you can go for B.Tech and after passing out, you can surely be a software engineer.
    This may fulfill your question.
    Thank you.
