Can a diploma holder from West Bengal, apply for B.Tech in CSD after clearing UCEED?

UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) is an entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for admission to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, and IIITDM Jabalpur. CSD (Centre for Studies in Design) is a department of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K). CSD offers a four-year B.Tech program in Engineering Science with a specialization in Design. To be eligible for admission to the B.Tech in Engineering Science with a specialization in Design program at CSD, IIT Kanpur, the candidate should have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects. Diploma holders from West Bengal are eligible for admission to the lateral entry B.Tech program offered by various colleges and universities. However, to apply for B.Tech in Engineering Science with a specialization in Design program at CSD, IIT Kanpur, the candidate needs to fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Additionally, clearing UCEED does not make a candidate eligible for admission to the B.Tech in Engineering Science with a specialization in Design program at CSD, IIT Kanpur. The candidate needs to appear for JEE Advanced and qualify for the same to be eligible for admission to the program. Therefore, a diploma holder from West Bengal cannot apply for B.Tech in CSD after clearing UCEED. However, the candidate can consider applying for lateral entry B.Tech programs offered by other colleges and universities.
