Yes definitely you can apply for a lateral entry programme, here i am sharing the eligibility criteria of the programme with you i.e. Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (Engg.) (any stream) (3 years after 10th or 2 yrs after 10+2(Non Medical)) or B.Sc.(Non-Medical) or B.Sc.(Computer Science) or equivalent.

If you take admission after diploma then you will get admission directly into second year of engineering. According to the UGC and AICTE rules, you can get admission to the second year of degree engineering based on your performance in Diploma Engineering (Polytechnic).
Eligibility for B.Tech Lateral Entry:
For Diploma Holders: Must have passed qualifying examination from an AICTE approved institution with at least 60% marks (55% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category). Yes, why not! For Diploma Students there are separate process of admission into direct second year(DSY) of engineering. According to your Diploma marks and respective cutoff for a particular branch, you can apply through multiple CAP rounds in Maharashtra State. Branch is not barrier here, you can apply for any branch irrespective of which branch you are currently studying in your Diploma.

Yes, Diploma students can easily apply for B.Tech through LEET (Lateral Entry) in this you will be given admission directly in 3rd semester.
