    Hello Devashish,
    Mechanical engineering branch is, in a way, almost a universal branch. Its requirement is felt in all varieties of industries including, of course, the textile industry also. Wherever machinery is involved, for its maintenance, mechanical engineers have to come in. I can definitely say that there is no harm in accepting a job in the textile industry. The packages can vary from about 4 LPA to maybe 15 LPA depending on your additional qualifications and the ability of the employer to pay and of course, the demand and supply equation.
