Yes a mechanical engineer can definitely go for MBA after B.Tech. In fact some universities these days, even offer integrated B.Tech-MBA too.
There are different ways of admission in MBA. Some institutes prefer CAT/XAT/ MAT scores only for admission to MBA course. And to appear for CAT/XAT
