    For the majority of programmes at Banaras Hindu University, admission to courses is determined by entrance. A one-year dropout student may therefore apply for the desired course; nevertheless, they must be eligible for that entrance. The applicant should also fulfil the minimal eligibility requirements particular to the course. Furthermore, an application explaining their cause for dropping out may be required of the student. Even this is not always necessary.

    Most BHU undergraduate and graduate programs require the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission. Hence, depending on the intended course, candidates must take either the CUET-UG or CUET-PG exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) administers this examination at the national level. Even if you dropped out of school after one year, you might still be able to get into BHU based on your grades, entrance exam results, and any additional requirements the institution may have for the programme you're applying to.     Banaras Hindu University course admissions is entrance-based for most of the programmes. Thus, one-year dropper student can apply for the desired course, however, qualifying the respective entrance is the a must. Apart from this, aspirant should meet the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements as well. 

    Moreover, the student can be asked to submit an application regarding the reason for drop out. Sometimes even this is not required.
