Can a single parent student get scholarship for this course?

Yes the LPU offers single parent scholarship too. The scholarship is named single mother scholarship. The condition is that the mother should either be divorced or widowed and the family income should be less than eight lakhs. The other scholarships offered by the university are: LPUNEST Marks based (for previous two qualifying Exams) Performance in other National Level Entrance test Performance in Sports, Performance in Cultural, R&D, Co-curricular, Social Services, Bravery Special Scholarship for Toppers of Education Board Financial Aid for Defense /CAPF and their dependents Financial Aid for Orphan Candidates Financial Aid for Persons with certain disabilities LPUNEST Study Grant Minorities Transgender Non Traditional student Need Based-Financial Aid Single girl child Orphan

As per my knowledge, not all colleges give single-parent student scholarships but LPU provides a wide range of scholarships, including single-parent students. LPU do offer Scholarship to special categories that includes Single Girl Child, Child of Single Mother, Students from Minorities, Transgender, and Non-Traditional Student. Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) Scholarship is also there. Objective of the Scheme: To provide financial assistance to students who need support for pursuing their higher education and to increase attainment and enhance their employability An applicant who is not availing any other scholarship/ grant offered by the university or Government or any other body (Public or Private) can apply for the benefits under the scheme Benefits under the scheme: The benefits of 30% scholarship on programme fee as financial aid will be awarded to selected applicants. Single Mother Single mother means the women who looks after her child without a husband or partner; The woman may be divorced or whose husband/partner is dead. Annual Family Income - Equal to or Less than Rs. 8,00,000/ For Single Mother an affidavit on a stamp paper of minimum Rs. 100/- is required from the mother of child; the affidavit duly signed and stamped from the executive magistrate.
