Can a student outside Uttar Pradesh opt for UPSEE?

The candidates, who have passed or are appearing for the qualifying examination from other states of India can appear for UPSEE if their parents hold a domicile in Uttar Pradesh. Hope it helps.

Yes, one residing outside the state is eligible for giving the exams under following cases:- First, he or she should have a total aggregate of 45 percent marks in his or her 12th and 40 percent marks for SC/ST students.There is already a reservation of 70 percent for the OBC, SC and ST students, general girls, minority girls and physically disabled students. Prior, there was a criterion that aspirants should have his or her mother, father or any closest relative, resident of UP, but now, it has been removed. Now the non-residents are left with 30 percent of which 20 percent are reserved for state board toppers and admissions through many civil and other quotas. So at the end, the outsiders have to fight for the left out ten percent seats to get into it. Though, there is an option for management quota in various private institutes hence is also a method to get into up colleges. Thank you. Hope it helped.

70% of the seats are reserved for a student residing in UP itself. The other 30% goes to direct admissions, where students how up to the counselling and get admission based on merit in boards. Within this 70%, there is further reservation based on the OBC (OTHER BACKWARD CLASSES), SC (Scheduled caste), ST(Scheduled tribes), GENERAL GIRLS, MINORITT GIRLS, etc. A student outside Uttar Pradesh can opt for UPSEE only under certain conditions: 1.if he/she happen to have passed his 11/12th standard from a school or institution lying in the state. 2.If you can by any chance produce a valid domicile duly signed by the concerned authority. 3.if your mother or father happen to belong to the state Uttar Pradesh. Other than this, you can have your admission done directly through management quota in almost every engineering college of UPTU or AKTU, as they are readily willing to do the same. Although, I would not recommend you to go for these colleges or keep it only as your last option. Good luck!

Hi there, Here is the eligibilty criteria of UPSEE. Age limit: There is no age limit specified by the concerned authority to appear for UPSEE. Therefore, any candidate can apply for the examination. Academic qualification: Candidates must qualify intermediate examination of Uttar Pradesh board or Class XII examination or its equivalent examination from any recognized board.Candidates must secure minimum aggregate of 45% without grace. For, SC/ ST category candidates, the minimum aggregate required to be eligible is 40%.The subject combination required in the qualifying examination are as follows: physics, chemistry and maths As per the state Government, 10% of the total sanctioned seats available in private institutes affiliated to Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Uttar Pradesh has to be filled through combined merit of domicile and non-U.P Domicile candidates. Therefore, 10% of the seats will be open for candidates who belong to other states and have passed the qualifying examination outside the state of Uttar Pradesh. Hope this helps. All the best.
