Can any of you give me tips for getting a decent score in verbal ability section of CAT?

    The 3 key secret to score excellent score in verbal (provided you have your basics right) is: practice, practice and practice. Hence, I would suggest you to first get your basics right by going through the prep materials for verbal and then enroll a test series SIMCAT/AIMCAT and keep practicing the RCs and grammar questions. Try not to commit the same mistake twice while practicing. With time, your verbal scores will improve.

    Hello Jayant,
    Some useful tips for getting a good score in the VA-RC section of CAT:
    1. While attempting VA-RC, allot the first couple of minutes just to have a glance at the entire section and select the easiest questions and passages.
    2. Speed is not important here, so work on the accuracy part. And no educated guesses or flukes as there is negative marking.
    3. If an RC passage is quite lengthy, refrain from reading it entirely. Instead, use the skim reading technique and/or directly see the questions and skim read the passage again.
