can any other eye defect other than colour blindness and 6/6 and 6/12 power criteria, cancel candidature of a candidate in merchant navy ?

I fullfill all the eligiblity criteria listed by any marine institute, but i want to know that can any other eye diffect hamper me in making career in merchant navy ? I have a eye problem known as diplopia.
