Can B.Tech mechatronics student give IIT JAM physics for admission in IIT for M.Sc physics?

I wanna do B.Tech in mechatronics engineering but I want to pursue higher studies in physics for PhD in IIT

    If they meet the requirements, a B.Tech. in Mechatronics student may take the IIT JAM in Physics for admission to the IIT for M.Sc. in Physics. Physics must be studied for at least two years/four semesters and mathematics must be studied for at least one year/two semesters in order to qualify for the IIT JAM Physics for B.Sc./B.S. students. According to the rules, BTech graduates who have met the eligibility requirements for Physics for at least two years/four semesters are eligible to take the JAM Maths and Physics exam.     Yes, students majoring in B.Tech. mechatronics may take the IIT JAM in physics to be admitted to the IIT for M.Sc. physics. GATE and JEST are two other admissions options.
