Yes, you can appear for CTET paper 1 and paper 2 in different exam cycles. Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers. The CTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 1-5 (Primary Teachers), and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8 (Elementary Teachers). Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers. The CBSE has so far conducted 16 editions of the CTET exam.

CTET exam is conducted twice a year. You can appear for CTET paper 1 and CTET paper 2 in different cycles of the exam.
