Can I appear for custom officer's exam after studying B.Com in taxation and procedures?

To become a custom officer, one need not study tax courses as the recruitment is done by govt through civil services or by SSC and both have graduation in any field as minimum educational qualification. Both exams are highly competitive and requires dedication and hard work to get selected.
