    Nahh, you are not allowed to appear for NTSE when you are in Class 9; this exam is meant for students currently studying in Class 10.

    So just hang tight, and if you are in Class 10, then you will be eligible to apply. You can start preparation if you mean it seriously. It's a competitive examination worth attempting.
