Can I appear for the NET exam after completing M.Sc?

    The B.Ed degree is not mandatory for appearing in the NET exam.
    For appearing in UGC NET, first, you have to check the stream in which you want to give the UGC NET Exam. You can give the UGC NET Exam in the stream which you have done your post-graduation.
    Also, you don't need to have a B.Ed degree for appearing in the UGC NET exam.

    Hi,
    Eligibility criteria to appear for NTA UGC NET 2019:
    Candidate must have scored at least 55% aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST, OBC- NCL, PwD) in Masters Degree or equivalent examination from university recognised by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science etc. To be eligible for UGC NET 2019. Yes, you can appear. Thanks!

    Hello Soni,
    Yes, you can appear for the NET exam. You are a science student and willing to pursue your career further as a Junior Research Fellow or an Assistant Professor then you should aim for that exam.
    You tried for B.Ed or not doesn't matter in this.
    Candidates having or pursuing their Master's degree in science stream are only eligible to take CSIR NET exam.
    It becomes a mile stone for your better future.

    For giving UGC NET you need to have a Master’s degree with minimum 55% of marks.
    IF you have got 50% marks or above then yes you are eligible to give this exam.
    You can choose any subject from your master degree. UGC NET consists of three papers:
    A. General studies
    B. Your optional paper-objective questions
    C. Your optional paper-subjective questions
    Age Criteria to sit for this exam:-
    For junior research fellowship the maximum age should be 28 years.
    For lectureship there is no upper age limit.

    To appear in UGC NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test), you only need a complete Master’s degree. There is no need of any other courses for appearing in UGC NET Exam. Last UGC NET Exam was conducted in November 2017 and the result is declared in January 2018.
