Can I appear for UGC-NET Exam after completing M.Sc.(IT) from Sikkim Manipal University through correspondence?

I am working in a very reputed college as a Professor for graduate(BSc) students.So i was thinking to pursue masters in IT.So that i can be eligible for net set and also teach in engineering colleges?I can't do full time studies so will i be eligible?Its really important for me to know this.
