Can I appear in more than one paper in GATE exam?

<p>Candidates are allowed to appear in any 2 papers of the 30 papers from the officially paired paper combinations in GATE 2025 exam. Candidates must choose carefully make the paper they wish to write. A candidate is expected to appear in a paper appropriate to the discipline of his/her qualifying degree. However, he/she is free to choose any paper according to his/her admission plan, keeping in mind the GATE eligibility criteria of the institutions in which he/she wishes to seek admission. The list of paper combinations that students wish to select can be checked on the GATE 2025 official website.</p>

<p>Depending on their eligibility to take both examination papers, candidates taking the GATE exam can choose between two papers. In order to choose a GATE paper combination, applicants need to review the list of different paper combinations that IISc Bangalore has released. The GATE Exam covers thirty different disciplines. Recently, two new subjects were added to the list. GATE is a three-hour online test with 65 questions and 100 possible points. The questions are broken down into three categories according to the official exam pattern: multiple-choice (MCQ), multiple select (MSQ), and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. Negative marking will only be applied to MCQ-based questions for incorrectly attempted answers.</p>
