I have back in 2 subs in my final year. Since the CAT exam results will be declared by January. Can I apply for admission, with an application from my college dean stating that 'I have applied for re-examination and is awaiting result? The result for the backlog will be out by July.

Yes, you can apply for admission, but at the time of joining or before the beginning of classes, you have to submit your provisional degree certificate. Some colleges would allow you to submit the certificate after classes start.

No, you need to first clear all the backlogs then you can apply for the admission.
Good luck.
