Being a chef, in its own is a profound profile, hence chefs always have a upper hand.The catering business is all about preparation of food, presentation & innovation,this pretty much revolves around the chef's profile.Hence being a chef will definitely be good for you to succeed.
However improving one's knowledge is never bad, hence you can always look for additional education/internships/trainings to help you touch newer heights.
