Can I become a Data Scientist, having 17 years experience in design and engineering of EPC Projects.

I am B.Tech (Electrical), passout in 2002. Having extensive experience in design and execution of mega EPC projects world wide. I want to pursue my further career as data scientist/ Analysts. Is it possible to make this transition. And how to achieve it.
