    Student are eligible to apply for change of branch after completing the first two semester of the course. The following rules will be applied for change of branch. Change of branch may be allowed against the vacant seats in the following two stages provided that criteria at the following sub-ordinances are satisfied first year, after the last date of admission but before the submission of enrollment form to the university, the branch change shall be made on the basis of merit (from within the category) of entrance examination subject to ordinance X.1.2.     Yes you can change your B.Tech course to ECE after Completing your 1st year in Mechanical. But you will do not have any pending subject in first year than only you can join ECE. Best of luck for your future and if there's any query, feel free to ask.
