Can I change my branch from textile technology to mechanical engineering in IIT-Delhi? What is the probability in doing that?

It depends on your marks in the 1st year because only a limited seats are vacant in that branch. So, the student with higher marks will get the preference. So, if your among the toppers of your college, then you should approach your registrar or the dean of students.

Normally, it's not difficult to change the branch in the same college. But invariably, it's allowed only after the 1st year since in the second year, the specialisation begins. It also depends on the availability of vacancies in the intended branch. You just need to approach your registrar and seek help.
