Can I customize the BTech Biochemical Engineering syllabus based on my interests?

The syllabus for B Tech Biochemical Engg. has both core and elective subjects, paired with labs, seminars, and projects. If you look at the core subjects, there is no such room for customization because they are important subjects that give basic knowledge of the field.
