I agree with Nihilesh Mathur.There is no use amassing fancy qualifications.So, opt for further research in English,or, go in for a job-oriented qualification.

Yes you can surely do M.A. in History with English medium. Being post graduate in English would help you. But think again as to why you want to do another M.A. Why don't you move ahead and do M.Phil in English literature or a PHd in it. I also suggest that you give UGC NET exam.
