Astrophysics is a subject that is taken by many Indian students.The qualification required to join this program is a pass in the graduate level. Students must have taken physics as one of the subjects or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical / Electronics/ Electrical Communications. An engineer with a B. Tech or BE degree could also enter the field as a research scholar.

Every institute has their own criteria for admission. However, if you have studied Physics and Mathematics at undergraduate level (B.Sc.) with minimum 45 %, you are eligible for the course. Universities offer the courses as M.Sc. Astronomy or M.Sc. Astrophysics
You may also decide about integrated M.Sc. Ph.D in astrophysics from Indian Institute of Astrophysics
