As a rule of thumb, people wanting to make their career in the teaching profession, go for an MBA program. If you are looking at teaching students at the post graduate level , a PH.D. has become more or less mandatory. The basic requirement for doing a PH.D. program is an MBA program from a reputed university. Of course, this is not to say that a PGDM is not valid. A PGDM from a reputed B School allows you to pursue your Fellowship Program in Management (FPM) . If you are planning your career on these lines, you stand at an advantage.
