As such there is no pre-requisite but During animation training, you would have got the basic information of VFX & if you feel excited about it. Go for it. Either Choose 2D VFX(After effects + Nuke) or 3D VFX(Maya Dynamics + After effects + Nuke + Pftrack).

Yes you can specialise in VFX. You may opt for VFX Diploma from a UGC recognised or Government University college like ANITECH -www.anitech.in or facebook.com/anitechbangalore
