Can I drop giving JEE Mains in the same year we have appeared for class 12th exams?

The eligibility to appear for JEE Mains is contingent on you passing class 12th. However, fine print says that you should have passed class 12th with 75% or more marks in 2015/2016. This is not waived off for students appearing for class 12th in 2017.
The concession is only to the extent of student getting 75% or more as and when results of class 12th of 2017 are announced. Thus, if you opt for drop in 2017, technically you have failed, and thus your appearing in JEE Mains becomes ab initio void as is called in legal parlance.
