Can I get a seat at Chandigarh College of Architecture without appearing NATA, JEE Mains etc.?

No, it isnt.
However, NATA has a very high importance in the field of architecture. You can join colleges through JEE as well as NATA but NATA is given a special preference. I myself am an architecture student and have secured a college through JEE.
Since NATA paper has a huge weightage of drawing, abstract and aesthetic sensibility, it is given more importance than any other exams. On the other hand JEE has been producing brilliant architects for as long as 40 years now.
Both the exams have an equal importance in the field of arch. You can either appear for one of them or both. Appearing for both, however, will give you the upper hand. -
