CAT is just one of the many exams that will help you in getting admission to a good college for MBA. Other options available for you are MAT, SNAP, XAT, etc. But, if you are targeting IIM, then CAT becomes a requirement.

Now a days, all MBA colleges offer admission based on CAT merit score. There is nothing like fail to qualify in CAT. Since, the admissions are given on the basis of CAT score students with lower percentile can still get admission in lower ranked MBA institutes.
You should also try and appear for other MBA entrance tests like XAT, SNAP, NMAT, CET, CMAT, MAT, etc. and try seeking admission based on the highest percentile score that you get in these tests.

RGIPT allows admission without CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/CUET-PG score under two circumstances. First, you should be a company-sponsored candidate. Second, if you belong to part time registration category. You will still have to fulfil the remaining eligibility criteria.
