Can I get admission in a private university for pursuing B.Tech in civil engineering and then move to another university in my second year?

I am thinking of taking admission in another university through lateral entry.

    Lateral entry programs are designed to encourage diploma holder in engineering or B.Sc grads to seek admission in engineering. Therefore, I do not think, it is feasible to change from private university to other university by lateral entry program.
