CAT is one of the accepting exams for CUSAT MBA admission. There are two types of CAT accepted for MBA. One is CAT conducted by conducted by IIM for admission to MBA programme. The other is CUSAT CAT conducted by Cochin University of Science and Technology. CUSAT CAT is accepted for MBA and other courses except PhD and Diploma programmes. Now the question is, if it is mandatory or not.

No, it is not. Aspirants who have passed KMAT or CMAT can also take admission to MBA programme. Aspirants shortlisted based on the entrance exam score are further evaluated in group discussion and personal interview round.

Except for PhD and Diploma courses, admission to the courses offered by CUSAT is through a Common Admission Test (CAT). Further, CUSAT offers a 50% tuition fee waiver as a Scholarship to 10 per cent of the students with higher CAT ranks at CUCEK for the BTech programme.
