Yes, for some course, GNDU takes admission without entrance exam. The admission to those courses is allotted based on the merit secured in the qualifying exam.
Admission to following GNDU courses is based on merit in the qualifying exam:

Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) allows admission to a number of programmes without the need for an entrance exam. The admission process for these programs is based on the applicant's performance in the qualifying examination. The following courses are included:
- Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) degrees
- B.Tech in Urban & Regional Planning
- M.Ed
- Bachelor of Tourism & Travel Management
- PG Diploma in Mental Health Counseling
