    No, GATE is not for IIMs. You need to appear for CAT exam to get admission in IIMs.

    Hi,
    To get admission to IIM, you need to appear and crack CAT examination, while GATE is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, which is used to get admissions for M.Tech courses.

    GATE is specifically for those, who wish to pursue their post-graduation in engineering field. Whereas, Common Aptitude Test is the exam to take admission in IIMs.

    For Executive Fellowship Programme in Management IIMs accept GATE score. For MBA programs they accept CAT score.

RGIPT allows admission without CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/CUET-PG score under two circumstances. First, you should be a company-sponsored candidate. Second, if you belong to part time registration category. You will still have to fulfil the remaining eligibility criteria.
