Yes, there is a probability of getting admission in IIT Kanpur for BTech if your rank is around 5000. However, it will depend on the branch of engineering you are applying for B.Tech on which department your interested. Since, the cut offs keep changing for different departments from round to round,

The cut off rank in Round 6 for BTech in Computer Science and Engineering is 238 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota.
