If going by the closing ranks of 2013, you would have to make do with Mechanical Engineering (if you are hoping for CSE, etc. E or EE, well bad luck, but if ME is your goal, then good). Going by the closing ranks of 2014 WBJEE 2014 Third Round Opening and Closing Ranks) ME got filled earlier than EE, but this time around another factor was at play which was IIEST ( BESU got converted into a college of national status ). Getting admission in a national status college by appearing for WBJEE a state level exam ) was reason enough to attract students there (trust me this offer-no-one-can-refuse thing got me and I was all in for getting CSE there, but finally chose JU etc. E). I believe this factor won't matter now as IIEST is out of the picture for students who appeared for WBJEE this time around (you). For you I can say for sure that CSE, etc. E and ME are out of bounds ( not even in the spot round you will get it ), but the rest for you is safe (if you don't get it the 3rd round, you will surely get it in the spot round).
