Can I get admission in MSRIT with 300 - 4200 rank for mechanical?

I'm not too sure if your the rank range in your question is 300-4200 or 3000-4200, so I will answer both. Any rank below 1500 should easily get you admission in the first round. For ranks below that, admission should be possible in the second and third round for ranks below 2500-3000. However, admission through KCET or COMED-K with a rank outside this range will be difficult. Therefore, you are left with 2 options if your rank remains outside this range. You can either take up a management seat (which I advise against), or you could choose a different branch for now and attempt to change your branch upon completion of the first year.
