Yes, it is mandatory. Not only for IITs but for every government institute/university/college like NITs, DTU, NSIT, HBTI, JMI, etc.

Hello Deep Rajeev, For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE (Main)ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination. Good luck. Thank you.

It is mandatory to score 75% in class 12th to be eligible for NITs and IIITs.

It depends on your score, if you get above 100 score in JEE Mains and percentile below 75, you will get admission in NITs, but you can't attend JEE advance, because it needs above 75% in class 12th. Or your category basis.

Hello Deepa, Your 12th score is not required for NITs and IITs but at least you have to pass. Those NITs and IITs require only your cut-off score in JEE Mains and Advanced.

Suppose I score 45% in PCM, then am I be eligible for NIT. I belong to ST Category. My Mains rank is 1456.

If your percentage is in top 20 percentiles then only you are eligible for the counseling of NIT's and IIT's. Usually, it is seen to be above 78-79% but do check accordingly with your session results.

Yes , you can get admission in NITs and IIITs, though your score in less than 75% marks.
