The eligibility requirements of 60% are merely the minimum. The 12th grade is not directly taken into account for admission by NSIT.To have a chance in the General category with 60% in the 12th grade, you would need a JEE Main rank below 500.NSIT and DTU ask for an aggregate of 60% or more in PCM and passing them along with English in 12th, so yes you're eligible for them. IIITD, on the other hand, demands 80%. These are for general category. To apply, a candidate should have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology with 75% marks or should feature among the top 20 percentile. Unless you fall into one of the special groups, it is extremely difficult to get into NSIT for a B.Tech programme if your class 12 results are below 60%.

NSIT offers extremely high cut-offs for admission to B.Tech programs based on JEE Main ranks. Generally, JEE Main scores of 99+ percentile are required for General category students, with cutoffs falling below rank 2000. Because the reserved SC, ST, and OBC categories have cut-off ranks of less than 10,000, a 95+ percentile is required. That's why getting 60% on your 12th board exam isn't good enough. A very good JEE Main rank is required.

If your Class 12 marks were only 60%, it is very difficult to get into NSIT for a B.Tech programme unless you are in one of the reserved categories.

For B.Tech admission, NSIT has very high cut-offs based on JEE Main rankings.Cutoffs for General category students typically fall below rank 2000, requiring a JEE Main score of 99+ percentile.

The cut-off ranks for reserved SC, ST, and OBC categories are less than 10,000, necessitating a 95+ percentile.
Therefore, earning 60% on your 12th board exam is insufficient. You need to have a very high JEE Main rank.

Hi...

Choosing an engineering college requires balancing placement records, salary packages, and fees. Generally, top-tier government institutes (IITs, NITs)  offer the best combination of high placements, excellent salaries, and lower fees compared to private universities.

Here is a breakdown of the best types of colleges that fit your criteria:

1. Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs)
  • Placements & Salary: The absolute best. They consistently report near 100% placements in relevant branches (like CSE, Mechanical). Average salaries are very high (often ₹18-25+ LPA), with top international offers exceeding ₹50 LPA
