    General students need 45-50k rank, OBC candidates need 60-65k and ST/SC students need 1-1.3 lac.

    Well, it depends on many factor. The first one is category. Normally, closing rank for good branches is 40000 to 50000 for general category. That too, if you are willing to take branches like EI BM and IP. But, many other factors are also responsible. College has reservation for NCC cadets, Sainik School Students, National & State level players etc.
    College level counselling is also available, but only left over seats are provided to the students in last round so it is a bit risky too.

    Only if you belong to SC/ST category. In MP, after NIT, Bhopal, every JEE topper opts for SGSITS, Indore. If you go by the cut-off scenario, then for general category, your AIR must be under 40,000 for core branches. Even for IP and biomedical engineering, your AIR must be under 80,000. You can try IET, DAVV in Indore. Placements are equal in both these institutes.
