Can I get admission to PhD at PU without entrance?

<p>Panjab University offers admissions into PhD programme to students after they have appeared for entrance exam. However, the university does provide exemptions on the basis of the following:</p><ul><li>Candidates who have already cleared any of the national tests, such as UGC-CSIR NET including JRF, SLET, GATE</li><li>Any prestigious test of national-level scholarship/ fellowship conducted at all India levels on behalf of the national institution (s), for example, GPAT, and JEST</li><li>Direct awardees of fellowship for pursuing PhD</li><li>Those working as permanent teachers at Panjab University and affiliated colleges are also exempted from the entrance test.</li></ul>
