In India aspiring students, for Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry courses usually need to take an entrance exam. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) organized by the National Testing Agency (NTA) is the exam. NEET-UG scores are recognised by veterinary colleges nationwide for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) degree. While some states or universities may have their entrance exams NEET-UG remains the standard for many institutions. Candidates who pass the exam are chosen based on their rank through a counseling process.
