The ranking in JEE Main with 12,000 may be out of competition with top colleges in IIT and NIT in CSE department, which happens when the ranking in the entrance test goes highly competitive for seats in that stream. Generally, for most of the IITs, CSE seats can be acquired from closing rank with 2,000-4,000 ranks for general candidates. At new NIT or other government college levels, getting CSE seats will also be achievable in the same range of rank like 12,000.

Official cut-offs of the specific institutions and branches you're interested in must be checked.

Absolutely yes, you can get into AOT with 12k cutoff. Make sure to participate in WBJEE counselling. Place AOT as your first preference and then you will get counselling in AOT in 1st round itself.

Talking about the cutoff, the AOT cuoff 2024 for the BTech courses has been ranged between 45106 and 996423 for the General AI category candidates. Wherein, BTech in CSE had the last-round cutoff of, 45106 for the General quota.

The overall field is extremely challenging as it requires to apply the basic scientific principles to design and develop rockets. It requires sophisticated engineering with careful material selection, and allows narrow margin for error.
