Can I get B.Ed degree alongwith D.El.Ed Diploma?

Eligibility criteria for the B.Ed. course: Students with at least 50 percent marks either in the Bachelor's degree / the master's degree in Science, social sciences, or humanities, or a Bachelor in engineering or technology with specialisation in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths with 55 percent marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the B.Ed. programme. A Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. ) is an undergraduate professional degree. However, D. El. Ed. is a Diploma-level course. Therefore, you can pursue both courses together when you need to pursue one of them in distance mode. With the B.Ed. degree, you will be eligible to teach students up to the senior secondary level. On the other hand, with the D. El. Ed. course, you will be eligible to teach primary-level students.

The B.Ed. Is a degree course, and to pursue it you need to have completed graduation. However, D. El. Ed. Is a Diploma-level course that can be pursued just after completing 12th grade. Therefore, you can pursue both of them together on two conditions: 1. You must have graduated in order to apply for a B.Ed. Degree. 2. You need to pursue one of them in distance mode. For example, you can do your B.Ed. In regular mode and pursue a D. El. Ed. From any open university like IGNOU. Your B.Ed. Degree will make you eligible to teach students up to the senior secondary level. On the other hand, D. El. Ed. Will make you eligible to apply as a primary level teacher.
