    No, depending on the programme a candidate wishes to apply for; the admission process varies. Admission to the majority of Calcutta University courses is determined by either merit or an entrance exam. BSc, BA, and BCom admission process is merit-based. Meanwhile, BTech and MBA programs use WBJEE, CAT, MAT, and other exams. 60% of the seats are held for CU applicants by the institution, with the remaining 40% remaining available for admission to candidates other than CU who pass an entrance exam.

    No, for most courses in Calcutta University, the rules for admission are either by merit or an entrance examination, whichever the programme the candidate is seeking to apply for. WBJEE, CAT, MAT Exams, etc., in BTech and MBA, while BSc, BA, and BCom require merit. The university keeps 60% of the seats reserved for CU aspirants, while the rest 40% is kept open in which the admission will be granted on account of an entrance examination from aspirants other than those of CU.

For the General AI category quota, the cutoff was 102 for the MCA course admission for the General category candidates under the All India quota.
