No, in IIT Patna direct admission on M.Tech without GATE is not possible. The students have to pass the GATE and admit their names through COAP portal. The last admission is by score in GATE and seats availability. It has no management quota or direct admission.

It is replaceable to get the straight entry M.Tech in IIT Patna without an entry in GATE, but only in particular sections. The following are the routes:
1. Any one or more of the following ways through Sponsored or Project Staff Categories (Non-GATE)
M.Tech admissions in IIT Patna without GATE will be done accordingly:
Sponsored Category
Should at least have 2 years experience working in industry, R&D or government.
You have to be sponsored by an organisation to undertake higher education.
No GATE required, though interview and performance is taken into consideration.
