    No, direct admission to the programmes offered at IIT Patna is not possible. For admission to the BTech programmes the aspirng candidates need to have JEE Main along with JEE Advance. For admission to the M.Tech programmes the aspirng candidates need to have GATE exam scores.

    For its undergraduate programs, IIT Patna, like other Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), normally does not allow direct admission. Performance in national entrance exams is the main factor determining admission to IITs, which is a very competitive admissions process.

    • The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced is required for admission to the B.Tech programs at IIT Patna. To appear in JEE Advanced, candidates must first pass the JEE Main exam.
    • The GATE exam is used to determine admission to M.Tech programs. Applicants cannot apply unless their GATE score is valid.
