It's true that Jain (Deemed-to-be-University) provides lateral admission for engineering degrees directly. The candidate's qualifying examination marks determine their direct admission to the university. Merit alone determines admission to Lateral Entry. To choose the candidates, there is no admission exam necessary. Admissions are made on the basis of each candidate's performance on the prior qualifying exam.
